James Dean Weber was born on October 22, 1933 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Walter and Beulah (Eliason) Weber.  He graduated from Muscatine High School where he was captain of the basketball team and attended Muscatine Community College.  He joined the army in 1955 and served as Private First-Class in Company C of the 6th Armored Calvary Regiment stationed in Germany. He earned the Marksman Badge and the Army Good Conduct Medal for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity in active military service. He was honorably discharged after a 2-year tour in 1956. In 1957, he was united in marriage to Nancy Downey in Macomb, Illinois.  Jim was employed for 50 years at Weber and Sons Button Company.  He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  Jim had a special talent of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone and share his good nature and friendship. Jim enjoyed attending his children’s baseball and basketball games and horse shows.  Most of all, he loved being with his family.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy of Illinois City; IL children, Dennis Weber of Illinois City, IL, Mark Weber of Oak Park, IL and Jane (Cord) Sturgeon of River Forest, IL; and his granddaughters, Katherine and Cassidy Sturgeon.
