James Patrick Murray was born December 30, 1957 in Akron, OH, the son of Melvin and Hattie (Green) Murray. In May of 2000 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Monahan in Wapello. Jim was a mechanical engineer, and was involved in tire testing for various companies including Bandag. He was very proud of being an Eagle Scout and would help with the Boy Scouts for many years. Jim enjoyed music and golfing. He was a lover of the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing and was a bit of a daredevil while riding his dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl of Grandview; sister, Verna Whitmire of Manchester, OH; brother, Paul (Tina) Murray of Norton, OH; nephews and niece, Aric Murray, Rachel Squivek, Matthew Whitmire and Zachary Whitmire; and his chosen brothers, Eric (Holly) King and Greg Mattlin.
