Ida M. (Johnson) Wolkenhauer

Ida M. Wolkenhauer, 86, of Mediapolis, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Mediapolis is caring for Ida’ family and arrangements.

Ida Mae Johnson was born on March 24, 1939, the daughter of Earl and Marge Johnson.  She was united in marriage to Stan Wolkenhauer in Burlington and later divorced.  Ida worked at several restaurants including Donutland, Hungry Bear and the Pantry.  She enjoyed restaurant work, eating her son-in-law’s fish and spending time with family.   

Ida will be deeply missed by her daughter, Cindy (Steve) Wirt of Mediapolis; one grandchild, Michele (Colin) Gerst of Ames; two great grandchildren, Maddie and Kaylie Gerst and siblings, Floyd Johnson of Biggsville, Illinois and Donna McGraw of Biggsville, Illinois.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents.
