Linda was born on April 25, 1963 in Levelland, Texas, the daughter of David Garcia Hernandez and Maria Pesina Hernandez.  Linda attended Muscatine High School with the Class of 1981.  She graduated from Muscatine Community College. She was employed by Heinz ES3 in Muscatine.

Linda loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family gatherings.  Her favorite things to do were relax, make up funny nicknames for the grandchildren, listen to music, dance, and spend time with her dog, Goldie. Linda was well known for her mothering. If anyone was in need of a meal, ride, or just someone to listen; she never hesitated to provide what others needed. She was proud that her daughters reflected that in their daily lives and she always encouraged them to be kind and accepting of others. She enjoyed evenings out with her girls to eat dinner and visit the Riverside Casino and sometimes to just sit outside and be together.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Esmeralda Chavez Anderson (Justin), Ana Chavez, Teresa Chavez (Jose Gomez), Sandra Chavez, and Noela Rosas (Ramiro) all of Muscatine, Iowa and their father, Rafael S. Chavez; her grandchildren:  Thalia, Andrew, Ayden, Gianna, Kyrah, Addison, Trevor, Jazmeria, Antonio, Isabel, Lorencio, Claudiana, Lilyanna, Arianna, Sophia, Eva, Ramiro Jr., Carlos, Yesenia, Noemie, Alexia, Yanett, and Yeilyn and great-grandchildren: Alexandria, Abraham, Ignacio, Ruben; her parents, David & Maria Hernandez of North Liberty, Iowa; her brothers, Jesse Hernandez (Elaine) of North Liberty, Iowa and Daniel Hernandez (Christina) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters, Tina Hernandez-Zudell (Ryan) of North Liberty, Iowa and Katarina Hernandez Mendoza (Mauricio) of North Liberty, Iowa; god-daughter Mea Hernandez; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Magdalena Portillo; maternal grandparents: Otilio and Antonia Pesina and Dimas and Ernestina Garcia Hernandez and her niece, Cali M. Portillo as well as her uncles, Romeo Villarreal, Jose Reyes, Dimas Hernandez, and cousins: Michael A. Enriquez, Ezail A. Enriquez, Alishia Paul, Joey Izaguirre, Daniel Hernandez, Ida Villarreal, and Gail Mendoza.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Muscatine Unity Point Hospital ER and ICU at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a special thank you to Dr. Carlos Chan for his compassion and patience.
