Helen 'Louise" (Flake) Land

Helen “Louise” Land, 77, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at UnityPoint Trinity of Muscatine.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Memorials may be left to the family in memory of Louise. Louise Flake was born on December 20, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Reuben and Helen (Kulp) Flake.  She married Richard DeWayne Land on December 25, 1962.  She enjoyed country music and had “Country Girl” on the front and back of her pick up.  She also loved karaoke, singing and dancing.  She worked as a cashier and enjoyed meeting and seeing new people and her friends.

Louise will be deeply missed by her fiancé, Rick Carlton;  three children; Richard (Sara) Land, Lorie (Scott) MacGregor, LeRoy (Patsy) Land; three step-children, Kara Carlton, Mike Carlton and Jessica Carlton; nine grandchildren; Ashley (Chad), Johnny (Ashley), Jared, Brittney (Matt), Levi (Stormee), Makenzie (Tanner), Miranda, Caleb and Zach; 6 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; Hailey, Liam, Alice, Emmarie, Iris, Hunter, Ella, Mikelle, Anessa and Kameron; sisters, Linda Nichols, Ella (Charles) Madden; Marlene (Lester) Sholly, Sara and Amy; brothers, Marvin Flake, Danny Flake, Melvin and Jimmy; and family members Tammy Whynott and family and John Salek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Helen; husband, Richard; brothers, Harold Kemper, and Randy; sisters, Wanita Flake, Donna Dunbar, Rosetta Kruse and Alberta Flake; Carolyn and David Stuart.
