Helen Marie (Tiemann) Lundeen

Helen Lundeen, 96, of Mediapolis, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Mediapolis.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Kossuth Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mediapolis Library in memory of Helen.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservices.com.

Helen Marie Tiemann was born on June 26, 1928, the daughter of Harold and Nima (Hutchins) Tiemann.  She was a graduate of Iowa State Teacher’s College in 1948 and then received her BA in teaching from Iowa Wesleyan in Mt. Pleasant.  On June 25, 1950, Helen was united in marriage to Kenneth M. Lundeen in Montrose, Iowa.  Helen taught most of her 39 years in the Mediapolis School System with special fondness for her years at Huron School.  She was a 50-year member of King’s Daughters.  Helen led a book club at the Mediapolis Library and enjoyed sewing, quilting, tending to her flower gardens, reading, baking cookies and traveling with her husband, Kenny. 

Helen will be deeply missed by her children, Lynne (Michael) Frasher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sally (Jeff) Jack of Wapello and Rick (Teri Watt) Lundeen of Davenport; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Jerry Tiemann of Copperas Cove, Texas.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenny on April 7, 2004; two grandchildren; one brother, Harold Tiemann and one sister, Doris Irvin.
