Harriet Harmon Obituary

Harriet Harmon, 96, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Lutheran Living.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the burial a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room.  A memorial has been established at Compassus Hospice in Harriet’s name.     Sympathy notes may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Harriet Edna Secrist was born on March 30, 1929 in Drury Township, Rock Island County, Illinois on her great grandmother Margaret Crabtree’s farm, to Harry and Blanche (Altman) Secrist.  Harriet graduate from Muscatine High School in 1946.  She worked at Batterson’s Department Store in the notion’s department.  On September 21, 1948, Harriet was united in marriage to Dale E. Harmon.  He preceded her in death on September 15, 2012.  Harriet was a life time member of Modern Woodman.  She enjoyed attending Mallard’s/Storm Hockey, watching Hawkeye basketball, traveling to Florida, crocheting, sewing, crafting, jigsaw puzzles and shopping at Goodwill.  She loved her pet cats. 

Harriet is survived by children, Terry (Rose) Harmon of Tucson, Arizona, Kevin C. (Melinda) Harmon of Sunbury, Iowa and Priscilla M. Lane (significant other, Jeff Pacheco) of Galesburg, Illinois; grandchildren, Charity (significant other, David Hansel) Harmon of Fairfield, Erik (Midori) Harmon of Japan, Bronson Harmon of Iowa City, Sean (Elsa) Curtis of Muscatine, Cody Curtis of Muscatine, Jake Curtis of Muscatine and Austin Barth of Muscatine; four great-grandchildren and siblings, Lois Zeug of Orion, Illinois and Bonnie Tietje of Davenport. 

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; her sister, Donna Kingkade and her brother-in-law, Dale Zeug.
