Glenda Thielbert, 86, of Marion, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at The Views Senior Living in Marion. No services will be held at this time. Glenda Darlene Nicholson was born on May 20, 1939, in Hazelton, Iowa the daughter of Glenn and Ruth (Holstrom) Nicholson. On January 30, 1960 she was united in marriage to Eugene Thielbert in Memphis, MO. She was a PE Teacher and Guidance Counselor for many years in the West Delaware Community School system. Glenda enjoyed camping, antiques, refinishing furniture, quilting, taking care of her yard and spending time with her friends. Every year she would bake pies for the American Cancer Society Fundraiser. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and was a chaperone for several Honor Flights to Washington DC.
Glenda will be deeply missed by her children, Lori (Mark) Opheim of Marion and Mitch (Kristine) Thielbert of Bettendorf; grandchild, Rick (Kate) Merchant; great-grandchildren, Addyson and Owen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Jim Nicholson, Lou Ann Kappmeyer, Betty Daniels and Carolyn Borland.
