Glenda Hartsock Obituary

Glenda Hartsock, 81, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Colonial Manor.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery.  Sympathy notes may be left to the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Glenda.

Glenda Kay Hartsock Bishop was born on September 16, 1941 in Norwood, Missouri, the daughter of Oscar and Ethel Bishop.  Glenda graduated from school in Mountain Grove, Missouri.  In December 1960 she was united in marriage to Daryl Hartsock.  They later divorced.   In her younger years, while raising a family Glenda stayed at home with her sons.  Once her boys were older Glenda began working at the school in the kitchen and later in management of hotel chains.  She was a member of Indian Creek Ladies Clubs and was an avid bowler.  She enjoyed puzzles, going to the casino and was a Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.  

Glenda will be deeply missed by her sons, Ryan (Heidi) Hartsock and Rob (Heather) Hartsock, all of Columbus Junction; grandchildren Kurtis Hartsock, Jacob (Ellie) Hartsock, Cody (Maritza) Hartsock, Jodi (Chance) Heath, Sidney Kauffman, Logan (Nate) Schneider, Whitney Russell, Lexee Hartsock, Sadie Hartsock, Madison Hartsock and Robyn Hartsock; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Snider of Ellijay, Georgia and step-sister, Jean Markwell of Muscatine. 

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents;  sons, Randy and Ricky Hartsock; step-mother, Henrietta Bishop; sister, Norma Thornton and step-brother, Ronald Ziehl.
