Frieda “Terry” C. Hocke, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Mercy One Genesis, Davenport. A memorial talk will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 701 Lark Park Blvd., Muscatine. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Terry’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Frieda Caroline Daufeldt was born on November 21, 1938 in Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and James Arrie (Muse) Daufeldt. On August 20, 1960, Terry married the love of her life, John Hocke. Together they were blessed with eight children. Terry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1963 and enjoyed telling others the good news of God’s Kingdom. After John’s retirement they traveled often and especially enjoyed the southwestern states. Terry had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, sing, play her guitar, listen to good country music, cook, bake wedding cakes and decorate her home. She was a self-published author of her autobiography. Terry dearly loved her family and spoke of them as wonderful gifts from Jehovah God.
Terry will be dearly missed by her children Pamela Wade of Muscatine, Sheryl (Robert) Vance of Muscatine, Mark (Carrie) Hocke of Muscatine, Joel (Anne) Hocke of West Liberty, Naomi (John) Eggers of Fort Dodge, Michael (Raluca) Hocke of Naples, Florida and Rachel (Jamey) Burkey of Muscatine; grandchildren, Autumn, Andrew, Jacob, Brittany, Sam, Gabby, Gideon, Abigail, Jonathan, Laura, April, Levi, Frank, Kayla, Hope, Phoenix, Preston, Phoebe and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mason, Arlee, Luke, McKenna, Sawyer, Natalie, Emily, Dakota, Dillon, Sam, Amelia, Evalyn, Tobias, Brooklyn, Brynlee, Ophelia and Odin; and sisters, Judy Ohrt, LeeAnne Smith and Janet Clark.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hocke; son, Jesse Hocke; grandson, Zachariah Hocke; great-grandsons, Tyler Crawford and Lincoln Deierling; brothers, Ed, Harley and Lawrence “Bud” Daufeldt; sister, Katherine Miller; and son-in-law, Bill Wade.
