Freddie Davis, Jr. Obituary

Freddie “Del” Davis, Jr., 61, of Fruitland, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.  Military rites by the Honor Guard of Muscatine County, Inc. will immediately follow the services at the funeral home.  A celebration will continue down at his house in the Party Barn following all services.  Private family burial will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Iowa at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Cancer Association in Del’s name. Freddie was born on September 4, 1960 in Huntingburg, Indiana, the son of Freddie Fay and Oleta (Rust) Davis.  On January 22, 1983, Del was united in marriage to Edith Sisco in Davenport, Iowa. Following her passing, Del later married Janet Oline on September 4, 2010 at the Faith United Church of Christ in Muscatine.  Del worked for H.J. Heinz, retiring in 2015 after 33 years.  During his retirement years he continued working doing maintenance at Cedar Hills and Cedar Parks.  He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing his guitar and banjo, chatting with people, camping, fishing, cooking, antiquing and holding family gatherings. 

Del will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet Davis of Fruitland; children, Oleta Davis, Courtney (Gavin) Curtis of Muscatine; twins, Sheri Davis and Clayton (Maria Sierra) Davis all of Muscatine; two step- children, Karen (Dustin) Ireland of Hampton and Tiffany (Joe Stych) Twait of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Gaige and McKenzey Curtis, Adelyn, Reice and Cason Davis, MaryJane, Dillon and Taylor Jensen, River Ireland, Layne Fox and Grayson Twait; siblings, Steven, Shane, Monique, Laversa, Marlee and Miela and several nieces and nephews.

Del was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Edith April 23, 2002 and siblings, Connie and Lamonta.
