Fred Eugene Lewis Cravens was born on August 12, 1950 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Morton and Wanda (Scarlett) Cravens.  He married Sue Windus on May 22, 2004.  Fred was a kind and loving man who enjoyed the simple things in life; a cold beer, a good joke and old rock and roll music.  He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and dogs.  He enjoyed planning to fish and owned every fishing book and many fishing poles. Fred owned a kayak and liked watching You Tube videos about kayaking, he went one time until he fell in the lake.  He took up ring making out of coins and would proudly give away his finished masterpieces.  He was a lover of all animals and spoke often of Zeke, his Doberman that passed away many years ago, and the three dogs, Harley, Evee and Mia he owns now.  He loved to talk about all the different cars he had owned through the years.  He loved to talk about his job as a Quality Manager and all the places that job took him on the big silver bird as he would say.  He will be missed by many and most of all by his wife who met him late in life and didn’t get enough years with him.

Fred will be deeply missed by his wife, Sue of Muscatine; children, Fred (Ashley) Cravens Jr. of Bardwell, KY, Michael Cravens of Moline, IL; Debra Cravens of Bardwell, KY; April Melsa of Cedar Rapids; Gary (Lisa) Windus of Coal Valley, IL and Kendra (Joel) LaRue of Muscatine; grandchildren, Destry Cravens, Nicholas Cravens, Christopher Cravens, Whitney Alexander, Ethen Cravens, Levi Royer, Javen O’Brien, Joel LaRue III and Jackson Windus; and brother, James (Robin) Cravens of Coal Valley, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his Uncle Oscar and his Aunt Mary, who raised him for many years.
