Frank C. “Sandy” Hedges, 81, of rural Oakville, died Friday morning, May 7, 2021. He was born December 9, 1939, the son of B. Frank and Aneita Hedges. He was a graduate of Huron High School in 1958 and Iowa State University in 1962. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity while at ISU.
He married Karen Amenell on June 10, 1962. Sandy served as a Lieutenant in the US Army stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. He returned to the family farm in 1965 and became the 5th generation to make a living farming on the homestead in Huron township. They hosted three foreign exchange students and many relatives and friends from those countries.
Sandy was active in the community, serving 12 years on the Mediapolis School Board, the County Conservation Board, Township Clerk, Pork and Church boards.
