Floyd Lacy

Floyd Andrew Lacy, 82, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Trinity Rock Island Hospital following a sudden illness. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society in Floyd’s memory. Floyd was born January 17, 1941 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Willie Robert “Jack” and Lydia Florence (Myers) Lacy. He graduated from Muscatine High School. Floyd was united in marriage to Inge Auguste Wichers on November 19, 1960 in Muscatine, Iowa.

Floyd worked for Bandag as a supervisor for many years. He was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Lodge and the Muscatine Boat Club. Floyd enjoyed fishing, working around the house, fixing things, watering his flowers and doing yardwork.

He deeply missed by his wife, Inge Lacy of Muscatine: son, Andrew (Lisa) Lacy of Naperville, IL; daughter, Jenny (Tim) Moothart of Atalissa; granddaughter, Mae Van Der Weide; and sister, Carolyn (Larry) Eggers of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Willie “Leroy” Lacy and Jack Lacy; and one sister, Reba Stickrod.
