Florencio Ponce-Reyes

Florencio Ponce-Reyes, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at UnityPoint Hospital in Muscatine with his beloved family by his side.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Home for Funeral & Cremation Services; visitation will be before the service starting at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Florencio’s name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com

Florencio Ponce-Reyes was born on September 1, 1954 in Choloma Cortes, Honduras to Cecilio Ponce-Andino and Candida Rosa Reyes-Murillo.  On June 29, 1992, Florencio was united in marriage to Mercedes Serrano in Los Angeles.  He enjoyed playing soccer, fishing, and was a sports commentator.  Florencio was a compassionate man and was always willing to help those in need, from a listening ear to car rides to doctors appointments, if you needed help, he was there.  Family was everything to Florencio; he lived for his children and his grandchildren. 

Florencio will be missed by his children Sobeida Espinal, Marlon Sagastume, Mario Sagastume, Luis Humberto-Sagastume, Glenda Moreno, Zaira Diaz, Renan Haroldo Diaz, Erica Serrano, and Walton Ponce; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Pedro Ponce, Carlos Ponce, Concepcion Ponce, Teresa Ponce, and Felicita Ponce; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Florencio was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mercedes Serrano de Ponce; son Felix Sagastume; siblings Ambrocio Ponce, Cecilio Ponce, Tomas Ponce, Chavela Ponce, Laura Ponce, Irma Ponce, and Florentina Ponce.
