Felix Santos

Felix J. “Tony” Santos, 91, of West Liberty, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Simpson Memorial Home.  A private burial with military honors will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Felix was born July 23, 1930 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of Alfredo and Mary (Fernandes) Santos. He graduated from high school in Massachusetts. Felix served honorably in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and Korea. He was a member of the Red Horse Engineering Unit and retired from the military in 1969.

Felix married the love of his life, Tommye Sue Weaver, in 1953 in Austin, Texas. The couple moved several times and states throughout the early years of their marriage while raising their three children, Susan, Felix Jr. (Ep) and Tommye (Jackie). Felix worked for the United States Postal Service for 22 years.

Felix will forever be remembered by his children, Susan (Craig) Levine, Felix J. Santos, and Jackie (Randy) Petty; grandchildren Erin, Toni (Andrew), Alex (Ashleigh), Joey (Lauren), Michael (Emily) and Felicia along with nine great grandchildren; and sister, Genevieve Gray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2018; great-grandson, Kyle; and siblings: Thomas, Pearl, Aida, Sarafina and Carlos.
