Everett Adams Obituary

Everett Adams, 92 of Muscatine passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Bickford Cottage.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room.  Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Everett.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Everett William Adams was born November 20, 1929, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Frank and Lena (Morgan) Adams.  He was united in marriage to Marvella Tutt on September 30, 1950.  The couple later divorced.  Everett was united in marriage to Maxine Goddard on December 24, 1978.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 2005.  He later married Virginia Swanson in 2008.  She preceded him in death on July 5, 2022.  Everett worked at Bessler Caterpillar, then Alcoa for 16 years and later Metropolitan Insurance for 10 years and finally drove school bus and the City transport bus before retiring.  Everett was a member of Glad Tidings Church where he took care of the financials and day to day operations of the church.  He also played the piano, organ, taught Sunday School and was on the Church Board.  Everett was a 32nd Degree Mason.  He enjoyed camping, NASCAR, stock car races and could often be found tinkering and racing his beloved ’61 Chevy when he was younger.  Most of all, Everett enjoyed being with his family.  

Everett will be deeply missed by his children, Michael (Connie) Adams of Bettendorf, Vickie French of Muscatine, Rick (Sandy) Adams of Muscatine, Teresa (Gary) Riley of Muscatine, Roger Adams of Washington; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; special friends, Teresa and Brian Lindstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, and brother, Roy Adams.
