Eve (Johnson) Riley

Eva “Eve” Helen Riley, 88, of Muscatine passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home in Muscatine.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Chapel of Praise in Muscatine.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Eva Helen Riley was born on April 14, 1937 in Iowa, the son of Leo and Viola (Waggoner) Johnson.  Eve attended school at Parnell Consolidated, Washington and Ainsworth schools. She went on to college in Muscatine and Illinois.   Eve was married to Charles Edward Riley.  Eve began working at Johnson Tax Service before moving to her home to operate her own tax service.  While living in Washington she attended a Baptist Church and later in Muscatine became a member of Chapel of Praise.  She enjoyed words searches, getting her hair and nails done, making jewelry and reading her bible daily.  Eve was very accomplished being able to play a variety of instruments including the piano and accordion as well as had several pieces of poetry and a children’s story published.  She received two awards for her poetry.  Her greatest joy was her family especially her children and grandchildren. 

Those left to honor her memory are her children, Leisa (Spencer) Lloyd of Muscatine, Lori (Timothy) Lotz of Muscatine, Linda (Timothy) Kai of Davenport and Lana (Patrick) Doty of Muscatine; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; sister, Donna McCallister of Marengo and sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Lloyd Bradshaw; brother, Leo “Jack” Johnson and sisters, Lila McCallister and Betty Estabrook.
