Eugene Rock, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Unity Point Trinity – Muscatine. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Gene’s name. Eugene Rock was born on August 2, 1936 in Wilton Junction, the son of Walter B. Rock and Angeline (Globes) Rock. On June 6, 1959, Eugene was united in marriage to Sandra Jo in Muscatine. She passed away on August 23, 2004. He married Mary Lue Hackett on September 17, 2006. Gene was a member of Fruitland Baptist Church. He enjoyed motorcycles and music, including playing his harmonicas.
Gene will be deeply missed by his children, Virginia (Earl “Tony”) Harrison of Muscatine and Walter (Michele) Rock of Auburn, Washington; grandchildren, Byron Rock, Eric Rock, Gene Morris and Lynn Morris-Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah, Elijah, Malachi, Everett, Emmett, Aviva, Mekenzee, Riley, Kyle, Sandra, Karen and Addalyn; great-great grandchildren, Roslyn and Esther; sister, Diana Nesbit and her husband, Roy of Muscatine; several nieces and nephews and Mary Lue’s son, Todd (Tricia) Hackett of Muscatine; her grandchildren; Craig (Andrea) Hackett Jr, Jenna Hackett, Joseph (Sara) Fox, Jake Fox, Aaron Hackett and Nathan (Jess) Hackett; her great-grandchildren, Macey Lue Hackett, Nolan Fox and Jared Woerly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sandra Jo; second wife; Mary Lue siblings, Angeline Marshall, Walyne Whitmer, Linda Troxel, Dennis Rock, Wayne Rock, Walter Rock and Steve Rock; Mary Lue’s sons, Jeff (Elizabeth) Hackett and Craig Hackett Sr.
