Emory Lloyd was born on April 27, 1935 in Muscatine, Iowa to Ivory and Edith (Hathaway) Davis. Emory worked at J.I. Case for over 30 years before he “retired”; even in his retirement he kept working. He delivered meals for the Muscatine School District and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone (friend, family, or stranger) to those in need. Emory married Phyllis Haney on December 12, 1959 and they shared 37 years of marriage before she passed away in 1996. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandson. Emory was an avid archer; winning many awards and participating in the Senior Olympics until he was well in his 80’s. Most of all, Emory loved his family.
Those left to honor his memory are his children Lynn (Chris) West, Pam (Scott) Symmonds, Gwen (Dave) Reichert, Robert Davis, Gail (David) Honts, Dan (Deana) Davis; bonus daughters Diane Hartwig, Joyce Mullen, and Jean Schneider; 17 grandchildren; many beloved great-grandchildren; brother Ivan Davis; brother-in-law Delbert Clayton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis; special friend Marcella Schwenker; parents Ivory and Edith; and siblings Blanche, Frank, Ross, and Marvin.
