Elvira C. Canarr, 84, of Davenport, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at her home in Davenport. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Lion’s Eye Bank in memory of Elvira. Elvira Charlee Canarr was born on February 3, 1940, in Moscow, Iowa the daughter of Herbert R. and Florence R. (Wilhelm) Ramirez. On September 5, 1958, Elvira was united in marriage to Lester F. Canarr in Iowa City. Elvira worked for C.D.S. for 22 years, was a proud homemaker and also owned and operated E.C.C., which was subcontracted by HON for cleaning. She was a past member of the Sweetland Methodist Church and enjoyed going to the casinos with her husband, Lester, sister, Isabel and Pam & Gary, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Elvira will be deeply missed by her children, Leslie (Annette) Canarr of Larimore, North Dakota, Richard (Gwen) Canarr of Davenport and Michael (Kimberly) Canarr of Fruitland; grandchildren, Angelo, Lorenzo, Aleena, Joshua, Bruce, Amie, Kayla, Zachary and Rebecca; 14 great grandchildren and siblings, Herbert Ramirez of Davenport, Arthur Ramirez of Wilton, Isabel Rameriz of Davenport, Mary Rameriz of Wilton and Evelyn King of Wilton.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Darryl.
