Ella Mae was born on March 20, 1965 to Ruben and Helen (Kulp) Flake in Muscatine, Iowa. She started her career in health care as a candy striper at the hospital where her parents worked; she later went on to become a certified nurses assistant and worked at many nursing homes in Eastern Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles Madden on August 9, 1984 in Muscatine, Iowa. Ella loved to spend her time crocheting, watching her favorite shows on ION with her grandchildren, and getting her nails done. She loved her Teacup Chiwawa, Cheeky, and really missed her after she passed away. Ella was the type of person who always helped everyone she could even if it meant she went without. Her greatest joy came from seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent every moment she could with them. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her husband Charles were who she lived for and she will be forever missed.
Those left to honor her memory husband of 41 years, Charles; children Tamatha (Joshua) Hooker, Mitchell Madden, and Randy Madden; grandchildren Jessica (Chris) Vargason, Jacob (Tauren
Waddle) Hooker, Trinity Hooker, Isabella Hooker, Aiden Madden, Kinya Martinez, and Johnathan Vasquez; siblings Linda Nicoles, Marvin Flake, and Danny Flake; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ruben and Helen; grandchildren Angel and Jermiah Hooker; brother Harold Kemper; and sisters Louise, Alberta, Donna, and Rosie.
