Elizabeth A. (Petrovics) Waring

Elizabeth A. Waring nee Petrovics died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, December 8, 2024.  There will be no memorial service and a private burial as per her wish.  Memorials may be made in her honor to "Friends of the Animals", Tipton, IA.

She was born July 19,1928 to Paul and Frances Petrovics (Bresciani) in Akron, OH.  Elizabeth married Max D. Waring on a beautiful day in June 1951.  Asked how they met and Max would say, "I saw her across the room and I just knew".  They celebrated their 73rd anniversary in June of 2024, shortly before Max died.  Elizabeth (Betty) had a great sense of humor, always had a joke to tell, a story to share, or a song to sing.  She loved her cat "Tiny" and laughed at her antics, deriving great joy from her playfulness.  Betty was a talented, strong willed, smart, enthusiastic little dynamo.  She enjoyed dancing to big band music with Max, traveling the world together, boat trips on the Mississippi river with him, and collecting seashells when they wintered in Florida.  Betty loved flowers and gardening in her yard, and fed her birds for 50 years.  She was especially proud of her gorgeous rose bushes. Betty enjoyed painting, cross stitch, sewing and embroidery, playing the piano, bowling and playing Bridge or 500 with her friends. She had a hole-in-one at Muni golf course, where she enjoyed playing with friends, strangers, and most especially her son Eric, with Sandra as her caddy.  Betty relished learning new things, meeting new people and was "Friend to All".  Elizabeth was blessed with many lifelong friends, and never knew a stranger.

Mom will be inexpressibly missed by her daughter Sandi Hoag (Doug) of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews scattered across the globe.  We mourn your passing Mom but will celebrate a long life - well lived.  We will miss you!.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, and son Eric.
