Edee M. (Pace) Hayes

Edee Hayes, 95, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at her home.  No services will be held at this time. Edee M. Pace was born on September 23, 1925 in Muscatine Iowa, the daughter of Cash and Iva (Almond) Pace. She was united in marriage to Edwin Longstreth on September 17, 1940 in Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death.  She later married Edwin Hayes on October 10, 1960 in Raton, New Mexico.  Edee worked for 11 years in the Muscatine School System in the cafeteria.  Later she was a greeter at Hy-Vee, in fact she was known as “Peaches.”  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and visiting with people on her back porch.          

Edee will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, LeAnn Crose, Kelly Machbitz, Kim Speake, Greg Longstreth, Lance Longstreth, Jason Longstreth, and Lyndsey El Bahi; many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Edee was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; sons, Gary and Ed Longstreth; siblings, Raymond Pace, Florence Canarr and Ralph Pace.
