Duane “Pops” Linder, 66, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services in Muscatine. Burial will be held at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Duane’s name. Duane Allen Linder was born on February 27, 1959, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Beverly Pearl (Essex) Salyars. On August 6, 2002, Duane was united in marriage to Tina Marie Dennis in Sante Fe, New Mexico. He was a truck driver for several different companies throughout his life. Duane was a member of the USSSA Softball Organization and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bulls fan, especially Michael Jordan. He enjoyed umpiring on the weekends, playing slow pitch softball, dirt track racing, camping, dancing, going to amusement parks riding roller coasters and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s ballgames. Duane was known for his contagious laugh and smile.
Duane will be deeply missed by his wife, Tina of Muscatine; special granddaughter, Kenda Linder of Muscatine; daughter, Kailyn (Joseph) Beason of Muscatine; step-daughter, Hope (Jason) Meyermann and their son, Drake of Muscatine and grandchildren, Jaxson Beason, Landon Beason, Ryker Beason and Kylie Beason.
Duane was preceded in death by his mother; uncle, Jerry Essex; best friend, Roger Menke and his dog, Gretchen.
