Dorothy H. Tompkins, 96, of Conesville, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the family in memory of Dorothy. Dorothy Helen Wilder was born on October 5, 1929, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Tom and Pearl (Burk) Wilder. She was united in marriage to Shirley Richard (Dick) Tompkins on August 10, 1946, in Tipton, Iowa. Dorothy worked at the Muscatine Pearl Works at the Columbus Junction facility, and Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Columbus Junction, Iowa. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and camping. Most of the time, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory: her husband, Dick of 79 years, children, Richard (Sherry), Dennis, Bruce (Deborah), Doug (Edy) Susan (Kurt), and Shirley (Andrew), 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Waterman and Tom Wilder; sisters, Iris and Jean and sons, Jeffrey and Steven.
