Doreen (Henke) Fuller

Doreen C. Fuller, 93, of Conesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at the American Legion in Columbus Junction on Saturday, May 24, beginning at 2 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Columbus Junction Public Library or Colonial Manor of Columbus Junction in memory of Doreen.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction is caring for Doreen’s family and arrangements.

Doreen C. Henke was born on March 2, 1932, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Henry I. and Augusta E. (Schroeder) Henke.  On December 24, 1951, Doreen was united in marriage to Roy David Fuller at New Era of Muscatine County.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, retiring from L-M Schools after teaching first grade for many years. Following her retirement, she worked part-time at the Columbus Junction Public Library.  Doreen had been an active member of the Conesville United Methodist Church and UMW.  She was also a member of the Federated Club, Half Hour Club and the Red Hat Ladies.  Doreen enjoyed playing cards with her friends, watching college basketball and Jeopardy, sewing, gardening and traveling.

Doreen will be deeply missed by her children, Susan (Duane) O’Donnell of Conesville and Mark Fuller of Conesville; grandchildren, Kelly Singleton, Jesse (Sophie) Singleton, Kelly (Nate) Break, Robert O’Donnell, Dan (Samantha) O’Donnell, Barry (Lynea) Springer and John Sinclair; 10 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nancy Henke, Linda Henke, Irene Henke, Margaret Vols and Irma Fuller, and several nieces and nephews.

Doreen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on June 27, 2007 and brothers, Jerome Henke, James Henke and Clair Henke.
