Donovan Edward Erbes

Donovan E. Erbes, 66, Mediapolis, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Wapello Specialty Care. Cremation rites have been facilitated by the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Mediapolis.  Donovan will be laid to rest with his family in Finchford Cemetery, Finchford, Iowa at a later date.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Donovan Edward Erbes was born on September 13, 1958 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Donald Clinton and Helen Marjory (McCumber) Erbes.  Donovan completed the majority of his coursework stopping just shy of graduation.  Donovan loved fishing, cars and music.  He really was a musical whiz and could talk your ear off about how all the musical things worked.  Over the years he enjoyed his collection of electronics, stereos and record players.  Donovan’s most cherished job was while he was employed at Goodwill Industries in Waverly, Iowa. 

Donovan is survived by his sister, Marilyn Fitzpatrick of Ann Arbor, Michigan; nephew, John Stough; nieces, Michelle Bryan, Gina Stough and Shawn Fitzpatrick and several great nieces and nephews. 

Donovan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eldon Erbes and sister, Elaine Taylor.
