Donald Ray “Don” Turner, 62, of Columbus Junction passed away on March 12, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with Military Honors to be presented at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Don’s name. Don was born on February 26, 1964 in Muskegon Michigan. Son of Dale Turner and Mary (Cletus) Bender. Don proudly served in the Army National Guard as a Medic. He was honored to receive the Quilt of Valor. Don was known for his cowboy hat and love for country music. You would often find him on the dance floor or singing karaoke. When he wasn’t being the life of the party, you could find him on his boat fishing or at the bowling alley throwing strikes. To know Don was to love him.
Don was survived by his children Amanda (Shawn) Port, Brandon Turner, Andrea (Zach) Murphy, Jeremy Utteridge and Bethany (Logan) Sickels; 15 grandchildren; parents, Mary & Cletus Bender and his siblings; Dale Turner & Margret Englert, Mary Sue (Casey) Hudson, Jamie (Crystal) Bender, Suellen (Jeff) Menzer, Tony (Della) Turner, Justin (Amber) Bender & Jason (Traci) Bender.
Don was proceeded in death by his daughter, Jamie Sue Turner; his beloved companion, Buddy & his father, Dale Turner.
