Donald was born on April 24, 1937 to Mabel and Carl Werbach.  He graduated from Iowa State University as an electrical engineer and after the early death of his father returned to the family farm.

Donald was a member of the Mason Lodge for over 50 years, a Township Trustee, and a member of the United Presbyterian Church.  In his work as a Mason and a Trustee he was a fierce and loyal advocate for Lone Tree’s Fire and Rescue Service.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Hall in 1959. This union was blessed with four children.  The couple farmed and raised their family south of Lone Tree.

Don was an engineer, always considering the innerworkings, and a steward of the land through and through.  He could repair almost anything, he could engineer a design, build, was a good carpenter.  He valued education and made every effort to improve whatever he was focused on.  He enjoyed gardening and was looking forward to garden tomatoes.  In addition to being a skilled gardener he also enjoyed watching his grand children grow and develop.  He has two grandsons graduating in May Ryan (Shawn) from high school and Christopher (Lisa) from medical school.

Donald will be greatly missed by his wife, Nancy of 61 years; their children:  Lisa (Chuck) Noty of Atlantic, IA; Lori (Phil) Brackus of Conifer, CO; Brian (Julie); and Shawn (Vicki) both of Lone Tree; nine grandchildren; one grand; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Francis, Carolyn, and Charles.
