Donald Leroy Thompson

Donny Thompson, 73, of Grandview, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at his son’s home in Muscatine.  A Celebration of Life for Donny will be on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Bridgeside Links in Muscatine.  Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Donny. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for the family. Donald Leroy Thompson was born on August 31, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of William and Margaret (Wilson) Thompson.  Donny was a 1970 graduate of Muscatine High School. In 1973, he was united in marriage to Margaret ‘Peg” Connor.  The couple later divorced.  Donny worked for the HON Company in Muscatine from 1978 until his retirement in 2003.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and Harley Davidson motorcycles.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, making sure to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Donny will be deeply missed by his children; Stacy (Jeremiah) Maurer and Jason (Emily) Thompson; bonus son, Devin Krenz; grandchildren, Chase Miller, Caleigh Maurer, Natalie Thompson and Taylyn Thompson; and sister, Peggy (Don) Townsend.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents.
