Donald McCleary

Donald McCleary, 90, of Muscatine passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at his home.  Graveside services for Don will be 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Donald Allen McCleary was born on May 9, 1935 in Muscatine, the son of Howard and Nell (Davis) McCleary.  Don attended Muscatine High School.  On August 6, 1955, Don was united in marriage to Nancy Oest in Muscatine.  Don worked for Kent Feeds for over 30 years, retiring as maintenance supervisor.  Don enjoyed fishing, stock car races and participating garden tractor pulls; winning several awards over the years. 

Don will be deeply missed by his daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Bridgewater of Muscatine; grandchildren, Dan (Jocelyn) McFate, Joshua (Kendra) Hunt and Kyle Hunt; great-grandchildren, Simon and Mya McFate, Presley and Easton Hunt and Jaxon and Kaedyn Hunt; step-grandchildren, Adella and Dave Dalbey; siblings, Margaret Leptak of Nebraska and Michael McCleary of Muscatine and Don’s companion for over 20 years, Dorothy Rogers. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy on September 28, 1989.
