Donald A. Kallenberger, Jr., 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites.  Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com

 

Donald Allyn Kallenberger, Jr. was born on September 28, 1949, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Donald Allyn Sr. and Winifred Iola (Bourne) Kallenberger.  He was a graduate of Muscatine High School and then attended Muscatine Community College.  Don served in the Army National Guard from 1969 – 1975 during the Vietnam War.  On January 16, 1971, Don was united in marriage to Patricia Ann DeVore in Muscatine.  He worked for Heinz for 20 years and then Leticia Corporation for 20 years.  Don was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.  He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed reading books, was a history buff, weekend trips to Winterset, going to the Wisconsin Dells, attending the Iowa State Fair every year, going to Elvis concerts, working on cars, maintenance on his vehicles and his cats, but most of all, Don loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia of Muscatine, his children, Shana White and common law husband, Lee Nuehring of Durant, Amanda (Jason) Ortiz of Fruitland and Donald Kallenberger III, of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Johnathan White, Ashley Ledbetter, Tiffany Kallenberger, Christopher Ortiz, Daniel (Vivian) Ortiz, Ryan Ortiz, Lillian Kallenberger, Kimber Kallenberger, and Allyn Kallenberger; as well as four great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.
