Dolores Holtz, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Lutheran Living while being cared for by St. Croix Hospice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Island Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Fruitland Community Center. Dolores Holtz was born on May 2, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Everett and Agnes (Hinrich) Elshoff, On June 10, 1950, Dolores was united in marriage to James Brockert in Muscatine and later divorced. On June 28, 1974, Dolores was united in marriage to LeRoy Holtz in Low Moor. She was a daycare provider and homemaker. Dolores was a past member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moose Lodge and Eagles. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting, cooking, painting and puzzles, but most of all, spending time with family.
Dolores will be deeply missed by her children, Cathy (Roy) Halstead of Muscatine, Bill (Judy) Brockert of Fruitland, Joe Brockert of Muscatine, Betty (Chuck) Behnke Muscatine and Marvin (Jackie) Brockert of Muscatine; step-son, Joe (Kristin) Holtz of Bettendorf; step daughter, Kimberly (Rick) Rayls of Wisconsin and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, James Brockert and LeRoy Holtz; sons, Allen Wayne, Ronald and Tim; three grandchildren, John William Jones, Jr., Adam Brockert and Allen Wayne, Jr.; sister, Mary Haley and three brothers, John Elshoff, Ray Elshoff and Robert Elshoff.
