Dickie Lukins, 90, of Columbus Junction, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the services, burial will be held at Columbus City Cemetery. Dickie Lee Lukins was born on July 16, 1935 in Fredonia, the son of Ralph and Frances (Warner) Lukins. He graduated from Columbus Community Schools. On December 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Ruth Swailes in Washington. He worked at Thatcher Plastics, the Highway Commission as a surveyor and at Washington Schools. He enjoyed hunting, watching TV, listening to the scanner and talking with others on his CB radio, with the call sign KFW6249. Dickie always kept a clean car and was very particular about his lawn. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Dickie will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth of Columbus Junction; sons, Mark (Sheila) Lukins, Gary (Claudia) Lukins and Tracey Lukins, all of Washington; grandchildren, Isaac, Mitchell, Coty, Ashley, Kirsten, Nicholas and Noelle and great-grandchildren, Noah, Caleb and Rowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Ann and a brother-in-infancy, Larry.
