Diane Kay Peterson

Diane Peterson, 76, of Muscatine, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Addington Place in Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Following the services, burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will follow the burial at the Muscatine American Legion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society in memory of Diane.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Diane Kay Peterson was born on March 31, 1950 in Muscatine, the daughter of Harold and Virginia (Brown) Peterson. She graduated from Muscatine High School and attended Scott Community College.  In 1968 she was united in marriage to Gary Kopf. The couple divorced in 1977.  On June 14, 1979, she was united in marriage to Gary Peterson in Muscatine.  Diane enjoyed camping, fishing, knitting, crocheting and sewing.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Diane will be deeply missed by her children, Dr. Brian Kopf of Iowa City, Julie Peterson of Muscatine, Brad (Muriel) Kopf of Muscatine, Mike (Amy) Peterson of Charlestown, IN and Matt Peterson of Muscatine; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Luellen of Madison, WI, Connie (Garry) Idle of Muscatine, Pam Calvelage of Fruitland and Lori (Brian) Connell of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Dan Peterson and sister, Cheri Shoppa.
