Derek Stalkfleet

Derek Stalkfleet, 34, of Fort Dodge, IA, and formerly of Muscatine, IA, died Friday, January 6, 2023, at UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Jesus Mission Church, 509 Mulberry Avenue, Muscatine, IA 52761. Memorials may be directed to the family. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services are assisting with the local arrangements.  

Derek was born October 3, 1988, in Iowa City, IA, the son of Michael Stalkfleet and Tonya (McDaniel) Stauffer. He attended Wilton High School. On February 24, 2010, he was united in marriage to Emily Enriquez at Jesus Mission in Muscatine, IA. Over the years, Derek enjoyed spending time with his family and rapping. He just graduated welding classes while incarcerated.

Derek is survived by his wife: Emily Stalkfleet of Preston, IA; children: Alexis Stalkfleet (born November 19, 2006), "Alex" Nevaeh Stalkfleet (born August 17, 2008) and Derek Stalkfleet Jr. (born November 18, 2009); parents: Michael Stalkfleet and Tonya Stauffer; siblings: Jeffery Wurr and Troy Stauffer; grandparents: Erika Stalkfleet and Melvin Stalkfleet; father-in-law: Jose Enriquez; mother-in-law: Sylvia Swearinger; and brothers-in-law: Martin Cerda and Joshua Flores. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: McKayla Pace-Wurr, Madison Pace-Wurr, Alex Pace-Wurr, Austin Pace-Wurr, Rayce Stauffer and Raiden Stauffer.
 

He was preceded in death by Melvin Stalkfleet and Nicole Enriquez.
