Dennis M. Galitz

Dennis M. Galitz, 79, of Coralville, formerly of Columbus Junction, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at University of Iowa Hospitals after an extended illness.  Services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction; visitation will be before the service starting at 2:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Dennis’ name may be made to the Allan Wright Hanft American Legion Post 100. Dennis Michael Galitz was born January 11, 1947 in Donahue, Iowa to Ray and Gerry (Seifert) Galitz.  He was united in marriage to Ruth Henrickson on April 20, 1968 in Columbus Junction.  Dennis served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Following his time in the Army, Dennis went on to work as an accountant with the Iowa State Bank and Trust, now Midwest One Bank.  He enjoyed reading, golfing, watching Westerns, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Dennis loved to spend time with his grandson Zanye and his grand-dogs.

 Dennis will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years Ruth; son Michael (Dina) Galitz; daughter Amanda Galitz; grandson Zayne Galitz; grand-dogs Toby and YaYa; and his sister Patrica Kroeger.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Gerry and his sister Judy Steward.
