Deloyd S. Swarts

Deloyd S. Swarts, 88, of Columbus Junction passed away Monday, October 20, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital Downtown Campus. Funeral services to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Visitation will be before the service starting at 2:00 P.M. Private family burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. Deloyd Sutton Swarts was born on February 27, 1937 in Moulton, Iowa to Bernard and Cora Ada (Peckham) Swarts. He worked at Illinois WHLS in Rock Island for 10 years before moving to Columbus Junction in 1964; when he started his farming career. While farming, Deloyd also worked at Rath Packing for 10 years until its closure. After his retirement, Deloyd enjoyed being a snow bird and escaping the cold Iowa winters in Texas. Most of all, Deloyd enjoyed spending time with his family.

Deloyd will be missed by his daughters Charlene DeLong and Cathy (Robert) Richardson; grandchildren Chasity Davis, Derek Kropf, Amber (Dan) Williams, and Brenda (Ben) Weyers; great-grandchildren Ava, Toryn, Charley, Frankie, Hunter, KaeLeigh, Brylee, Bronson, and one on the way; brothers Boyd Swarts, Vernon Swarts, and Cleroyd Swarts; and his sister Carolene Purvis.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Cora Ada; brothers Cloyd Swarts and Floyd Swarts; and sisters Ilene Sleeth, Coleen Selvy, and Arlene DeCook.
