Delores "Dee" Jean Thomas

Delores “Dee” Thomas, age 88, of Morning Sun passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Morning Sun Care Center.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Elmwood Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will begin at Noon on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Morning Sun Community Center with a luncheon provided by the First United Presbyterian Church Ladies.  Memorials may be left for the Community Betterment for Flower Pots.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Morning Sun, formerly The Hagele and Honts Funeral Home is caring for Dee’s arrangement and her family. 

Delores Jean Robertson was born on April 28, 1931 in Indiana the daughter of Everett and Mildred (Cockayne) Robertson. She graduated from Winfield-Mt Union High School in 1949. On August 10, 1952, she married the love of her life Dale Odas Thomas.  She rode with Dale in his semi-truck for over 25 years and never complained once.  She enjoyed flowers and attending her grandchildren’s ballgames and activities.  Dee’s favorite thing to do was drive to Mount Pleasant and eat at either Pizza Ranch or Jumbo Buffett and then go to Walmart. 

Dee will be deeply missed by her children, Connie (Jerry) Malone of Morning Sun, Tony (Annette) Thomas of Wapello and Joni (Davey) Massner of Mediapolis; 10 grandchildren; Toni (Boe) McLaughlin, Johnny (Roxanne) Smith, Molly (Ryan) Buffington, Stacey (Ross) Buffington, Brenna (Aaron) Wonders, Cody Malone, Cally (Dylan) Schrader, Cher (Lance) Talbott, Melodee Whaley, Tisha (Jeff) Molle and Kohle Bagwell and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter-in-law, Beth Thomas; sister, Carolyn Hartman; infant brother, Gary Dean Robertson and aunt, Evelyn Anderson.
