Delbert “Del” Wooten, 69, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Muscatine, Iowa. born on May 19, 1956, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Del was the youngest child of Joan and Earl Wooten. He grew up alongside his older sister and brother, forming bonds that would shape his lifelong appreciation for family.
Del was a fun-loving and light-hearted soul whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. he had a keen eye for treasures and could often be found browsing estate sales and auctions in search of clocks, coins, or any unique knick-knack that caught his attention. His home reflected his eclectic tastes and love for the little things that made life interesting.
A lover of nature’s simple pleasures, Del found joy in the gentle sound of wind chimes and the quiet companionship of houseplants. These small comforts brought him peace and reflected his easygoing spirit.
An avid football fan, Del’s loyalty to the Green Bay Packers was unwavering. He relished football season not only for the games but also for the playful banter it inspired. He took great delight in teasing fans of rival teams, always with a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face.
Delbert was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wooten; mother, Joan Wooten; brother, Earl Wooten Sr.; and nephew, Alvin Wooten.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Carolyn Wooten; nephew Earl Wooten III (Monique Wooten); their six children; great-nephew Talvin Wooten; great-niece Tahlia Wooten; and many cousins who will carry forward his legacy of humor, family pride, and dedication to hard work.
May Del’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire joy in life’s simple pleasures.
