David Wayne Roelle, 70, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Muscatine. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 4:00pm at the American Legion. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Dave’s family and the arrangements.
Dave was born on July 14, 1954 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of John “Jack” and Helen (Schmalz) Roelle. Dave was a 1972 graduate of Muscatine High School. He was united in marriage to Sue Wulf in 1973 in Muscatine, and later divorced. He was later married to Paula Roelle.
Dave lived life on his own terms, unapologetically walking on the wild side. Dave spent his career as an iron and concrete worker ultimately sacrificing his body to a craft that demanded strength and endurance. Dave had a passion for the open road, finding freedom in his Harley Davidson. He worked hard and played hard, a lifestyle not for the faint of heart. Those who knew him understood that beneath his rugged exterior lay a good heart. Dave’s legacy is one of adventure, hard work, and authenticity.
Dave will be missed by his children, Josh (fiancé, Lindsey) Roelle of Lake Tahoe, Carrie (Eric) Roussel of Minden, Nevada and Dustin (Stephanie) Roelle of Davenport; grandchildren Kajsa, Miles, Lucy, Frankie, Spencer, Talia, and Josephine; siblings Steve (Sue) Roelle of Muscatine, Doug Roelle of Muscatine, and Janet (Gary) Gerst of Columbus Junction; and several nieces.
Dave was preceded in death by his father.
