Daryl Wayne Scarlett, 70, of Morning Sun, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at his home in Morning Sun. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Morning Sun Community Center. Following the services, a visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Morning Sun Community Center. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Daryl Wayne “D” Scarlett was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, building and repairing things, playing computer games, listening to music, watching movies and being around family and friends.
Daryl leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Wendy Scarlett (Robert Humphrey), Sandra Burges (Joshua Burgess), Amber Porter; son, Dewayne Scarlett; grandsons, Daryl Englund, Joshua Englund, Jr., Heith Scarlett and Keith Burgess; granddaughters, Katie Wilson (Blake Wilson), Elektra Scarlett and Kristen Humphrey; adopted granddaughter, Gracie Wood; great-grandson, Ivar Wilson; great-granddaughter, Elize Vodochodshy; mother Beverley Spitznogle; brothers, Randy Scarlett (Cheryl Scarlett) and Ivan Spitznogle (Kim Spitznogle); sisters, Kathy Brair (Dave Briar), Billie Scarlett, Faye Osler and Tammy Hawk and 26 nieces and nephews.
Daryl was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Raymond Scarlett and Travis Spitznogle; brothers-in-law, Bill Osler and Steve Hawk; sister-in-law, Dorma Scarlett; niece, Alejandra Salazar, great-niece, Kiana Zamora and granddaughter, AdaBella Garcia.
