Danny Fowlie, 76, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2026, at his home in Muscatine. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. Memorials may be left to the family in memory of Danny. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Danny Eugene Fowlie was born on September 16, 1949 in Muscatine, the son of Francis and Ethel (Hayes) Fowlie. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, Navy and the National Guard. On July 17, 1970, he was united in marriage to Betty Higgerson in Muscatine. The couple later separated. Danny worked as a jailer in Fort Madison, a police officer in West Liberty, a jailer in Scott County and a jailer/dispatcher in Muscatine and finally as an over the road truck driver for Nestle. He was described as a jack of all trades. Danny loved fishing and going out to eat. There was a special place in his heart for his dogs, Auna, Emma and bird, Papa. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Danny will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Toni Kilgore of Muscatine; children, Kenny (Jennifer) Fowlie of Keokuk, Daniel Fowlie of Muscatine, Cindy (Gail Delestowicz) Schultz of Muscatine and Mary Fowlie of Muscatine; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, June Adams; brother-in-law, Bob Babbit and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Jack Ray, Gloria Reed, Audrey Babbit and Iris Moore.
