Dan Yakle, 67, of Wapello passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Graveside Services for Dan will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Wapello Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the family. Daniel John Yakle was born on March 5, 1957 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Daniel McKay and Catherine (Connor) Yakle. Dan was a 1975 graduate of Wapello High School. On May 27, 1978, he was united in marriage to Cindy Fite in Floris, Iowa. Dan worked for HON Industries in Muscatine. He was a member of the Wapello Fire Department and Wapello Ambulance. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, motorcycle riding, building and fixing guns, mushroom hunting, camping, the outdoors, riding horses and storytelling. Above everything family was the most important to Dan.
Dan will be deeply missed by his wife Cindy; sons, Scott (Cassandra) Yakle of Wapello, Brian (Katie) Yakle of Muscatine and Travis (Emily) Yakle of Winfield; grandchildren, Daniel Jay Yakle, Caisey Yakle and Tinley Yakle; brothers, David (Susan) Yakle and Steven (Roxy) Yakle, all of Wapello and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
