Constance "Connie" Walker

Constance “Connie” Walker, 77, of Nichols, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Muscatine, surrounded by the love of her family. 

Born on March 12, 1948, in Nichols, Iowa, to Charles and Chloe (Dudley) Walker, Connie grew up with small-town values that she carried with her throughout her life. She graduated from West Liberty High School and continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa.

Connie was previously married to Michael Ross. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Angela - one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Connie worked for over 30 years at H.J. Heinz Company, where she built friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was a hard worker, but her greatest devotion was always her family.

She was the kindest and sweetest soul - the type of person who loved deeply, trusted easily, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She believed the best in people and somehow always managed to see the bright side of everything. Her laughter could lighten a room, and her heart had room for everyone.

She loved being outdoors, especially with her horses. Trail riding brought her peace and joy, and some of her happiest moments were spent under an open sky, reins in hand. 

Connie often said “all we have is eachother”. Those weren’t just words - it was the way she lived her life. Family was her greatest treasure, and she made sure each of us felt it.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Angela (Ryan) Hillman of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Kayla (Josh) Campbell, Shayla (Zach) Goddard, Steven (Miranda) Rhodes, Addison Hillman, Tanner (BreAnna) Hillman, and Brittany (Trevor) Hillman; 14 great-grandchildren; her longtime companion J.D. Walters; and many friends who were blessed to know her love.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Walker, as well as both parents.
