Clay Nichols

Clay Nichols, 63, of Muscatine, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2022 at his residence. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Clay. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is assisting with arrangements. Clay was born March 20, 1959 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Monna (Franklin) Nichols. He graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School. Clay was united in marriage to Peggy Wheeler on March 18, 1978 in Muscatine. The couple had two children, Jeremy & Heather. They later divorced.

Clay worked for the Hon Company for over twenty years. He enjoyed model cars, woodworking and music, particularly The Beatles and Billy Joel. His greatest love was his family and the time spent with them.

Clay will be deeply missed by his children: Jeremy (Heather) Nichols of Muscatine and Heather Nichols (Damon Cox) of Grandview; grandchildren: Dalton Dingus, Cade Nichols, Delaney Nichols, Kenyon Nichols, Chevy Whitlow and Willow Whitlow; siblings: Rick (Debbie), Kerry, Corey (Tami), Darla (Dave), Liane (Lenny), Dawn, Tisa, and Mindi; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Pam and Candi; and one sister-in-law, Sony.
