Obituary
Clara Stratton, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Unity Point Health Trinity in Bettendorf. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Clara. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for the family. Clara Mae Newcomb was born on October 21, 1936 in Muscatine, the daughter of Cecil and Lettie (Howard) Newcomb. On September 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Raymond Stratton in Muscatine. Clara babysat for many years and loved children. She loved music and singing, even recording a CD. Clara also enjoyed dancing, traveling and being with her family.
Clara will be deeply missed by her children, Connie Reynolds, Larry Stratton, Harold “Fritz” Stratton and Fred Stratton; all of Muscatine; daughter-in-law, Kathi Stratton of Grandview; grandchildren; Jesse (Nicole) Reynolds, Nicholas (Danielle) Stratton, Alexandra (Anthony) Longhurst, Benjamin Geertz, Shawn (Abigail) Jackson, Katrina (Tommy) Glos, Nick (Jeanie) Morgan, and Kara Morgan; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, sons, Todd and Jason Stratton; brothers, Harold, Weldon and Ross Newcomb and one in infancy; sisters, Grace Bierman, Marjorie Seright, Betty Tompkins, Geraldine Phillips and Beverly Dorsey.
