Chris Bendixen, 50, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Muscatine Humane Society in memory of Chris. Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Christopher John Bendixen was born on September 26, 1974 in Freeport, IL, the son of John and Marilyn (Harkins) Bendixen. On August 12, 2000, he was united in marriage to Natalie Margan in Tennyson, WI. Chris was the manager at Sherwin Williams and later a steel worker at SSAB. He was a former member of the Oakhill Gun Club. He enjoyed playing tennis, shooting, golfing and traveling; and he loved boating trips to Greers Ferry, Arkansas. From chasing armadillos to snakes, he was always known as the big kid in the group. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Chris will be deeply missed by his wife, Natalie Bendixen of Muscatine; son, Tyler (Vanessa Darting) Bendixen of Muscatine; parents, John and Marilyn Bendixen of Rockford, IL; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Russ Nielsen of Riverside, CA; father and mother-in-law, Rich and Sandy Margan of Platteville, WI; sister-in-law, Sarah Margan of Mineral Point, WI; nephew, Gavin Weber; niece, Kaylee Weber and his cats, Tiki and Skinnybutt.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Bill Bendixen; paternal grandparents; Harold and Mildred Bendixen and maternal grandfather, George Harkins.
