Chloerine "Corkie" Holliday Obituary

Chloerine Mae Holliday, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her residence following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church of Muscatine.  Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Muscatine, the Muscatine Humane Society, or to It Takes a Village Animal Rescue and Resources, in Chloerine’s memory. Chloerine was born July 2, 1933, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Leroy and Phyllis Amarenza (Tobias) Holliday. She was united in marriage to James Richard “Bud” Grady on December 22, 1950, in Muscatine, Iowa.  He preceded her in death in 1965. Chloerine worked as a customer service representative for HON from 1974-1996, until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Muscatine where she sang in the choir and served as an Elder, Deacon and committee chair for many years. Chloerine was a State Delegate for the Democratic Party and was active on the election board, serving as a poll worker. In her youth, Chloerine enjoyed dancing and roller-skating.  Later in life she enjoyed gardening, baking, playing bridge with friends, needle point, embroidery and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching British T.V. shows. She loved all animals and took great care of her pet dogs and cats. She especially loved her cat, Maggie.

She will be missed by her children: Michael (Gail) Grady of Edmond, Oklahoma; Kelly Grady of Davenport; Kerry (Kim) Grady of Chicago, Illinois; Troy (Natalie) Tietge of Oxford; and Michelle (Dean) Chelf of Letts; grandchildren: Katie, Ryan, Nathan, Mia, Kharma, Britney, Karleigh, Courtnaey and Jordan; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two infant grandchildren, James Michael Grady and Keri Ann Grady.
